Our role in the process

At Sac Mobile Notary we verify the identity of the people signing documents. We are glad to notarize your signature on a power of attorney, with two limits: we do not give legal advice, and we do not draft or prepare legal documents. Bring a fully prepared power of attorney to the appointment.

Where to find official templates

Templates and drafting guidance come from the government of the country where the document will be used:

• Embassy of the Russian Federation in the USA — consular notary section, powers of attorney
• U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Russia — local resources for U.S. citizens
• Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco — consular affairs and notary services
• Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine — consular affairs, document certification

How to prepare for your appointment

1. Make sure the document is fully prepared and ready to sign, with no blanks left unfilled.
2. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID so we can verify your identity.
3. If the document requires witnesses, plan to bring your own. A notary should not serve as a witness on a document they are also notarizing, so we notarize the signatures and the witnesses come with you.

Thumbprint requirement

California law requires the notary to take the signer's right thumbprint in the notary journal for any power of attorney and for any document affecting real property. It is a fraud prevention measure. The thumbprint stays in the notary's private journal and is not attached to your document.
